About the Family Ministries Pastor Opportunity
We are looking to add a full-time Family Ministries Pastor to our Redeemer team! The Family Ministries Pastor is responsible for leading and growing Redeemer’s Youth and Children’s Ministries. The right man will inherit a motivated and committed team of lay leaders and build upon a strong foundation of ministry built by our previous pastor. They will also be an integral part of our leadership team and contribute to our overall vision and direction.
General Responsibilities
Give oversight to our Senior and Junior Highschool students and oversee our Children’s Ministry program with the aid of our Children’s Ministry Coordinator.
Be a part of our preaching team (roughly 2-6 times/year) and be actively involved in our Sunday Morning services.
Participation in our weekly staff meetings
Ministry Responsibilities
a) Youth Ministry
Run weekly Senior & Junior High ministry nights
Recruit, train, and oversee volunteer team
Develop and implement a discipleship strategy for our youth including (but not limited to) things like mentoring/discipleship groups, opportunities for our youth to serve and engage in local/overseas missions, etc.
Help to integrate youth into Redeemer’s wider ministries
Connect with parents regularly and help to equip and encourage them as they seek to raise their children for the glory of God.
Provide counselling to students as needed.
Plan and execute annual events such as our Summer Overnight Camp, retreats, and conferences.
Actively seek to develop relationships with local schools, like-minded churches, and organizations ministering to the young people in our region.
b) Children’s Ministry
Be the point person for all Children’s Ministry initiatives
Select curricula for all Children's Ministry Programs (Sunday morning, Kids Nights, Camps)
Work with the Children’s Ministry Coordinator to ensure weekly volunteers are prepared and resourced to minister to our kids on Sunday morning.
Connect face-to-face/work with children and/or families outside of regular ministry programs
Recruit and train volunteers in Children's Ministry programs.
Competencies, Skills & Experience:
Min. 2 years of experience Youth Ministry.
Degree in Theology or Biblical Studies (focused degrees in Youth Ministry)
Strong leadership abilities and experience in building, training, and maintaining teams.
Ability to work unsupervised, and yet function as a part of our larger staff and ministry team.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Products (i.e., Gmail, Google Drive, Forms, Hangout, etc.) are preferred.
“Clean” criminal/vulnerable sectors check
Ability to work from the church at least 2 days (from Mon-Fri)
Attend Sunday morning services and become a meaningful part of the Redeemer Community.
