This may be my last update to you as leader in the AGC in that my good friend and co-labourer Bill Fietje will be inducted as our new President at our June 5-8, 2008 Conference. It has been a pleasure serving with you!
You are in a place of great influence for God as Pastors and/or chairs. Your life sets the tone and pace in the congregations you serve. As bible teachers you are prophets bringing the word of God to His people. As pastors you care for and intercede as would a priest for the people of God. You are also a leader that has a clear sense of vision and direction the people can follow. You bring and sacrifice a lot to be in His service. God who is the true judge will reward you!
New Leadership
The prayer part of my leadership will continue. I often reflect that this dimension of being President may be the most significant and lasting part. I have you in my heart whether in leadership or not.
Bill will do a marvelous job. His life, his positive attitude, his love for the pastors and churches along with his experience are what God will use to His greater glory.
Into the Future
This theme will be the focus at the AGC National Conference, June 5-8, 2008 with speaker Pastor Ian Campbell. Ian is a great model of leading a church into the future. Please register online if you have not yet done so or call our office. If you are able to come to the farewell banquet Saturday night along with others from your church, please call Donna at the AGC office. This banquet will also include the induction of Bill Fietje.
Partners International
Beulah and I will take July – December 2008 off as a sabbatical. On January 2009, I will login to serve full time with Partners International. I would love to keep in touch with you and be of further service. Whether we meet for a coffee, lunch, or a visit to minister at your church, let me be your servant. I will be working on a series of messages on “Mission and the Glory of God” that would work well at a Missions weekend or Sunday. Partners also brings National leaders in the fall and spring from various countries that I would love to have you meet.
