Looking for: Youth Outreach Worker (in Partnership with Youth Unlimited)

Position Description:
This is a partnership position between Bridletowne Park Church and Youth Unlimited (YU). The staff member would invest part of his or her time as an Outreach Worker mainly to Chinese and Sri Lankan youth in the neighbourhood possibly providing a program at the local High School and part of their time providing a regular weekly program for the youth of the church. This individual must be able to initiate programs, recruit and train staff/volunteers, and monitor the programs and ministries once established. The youth worker will be expected to attend Bridletowne Park Church and become an active member. This position is partially funded by the church. The rest will be funded on a missionary basis, requiring the gathering of a personal support team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a program that is fun and spiritually challenging for the Jr./Sr. High youth of the church
- Develop and implement outreach ministries for after school and weeknights for the youth of the community targeting mainly Chinese and Sri Lankan youth
- Train and supervise a volunteer team required for programs
Candidates should demonstrate the following:
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Excellent communication skills verbal and written
- Ability to motivate and mobilize others
- Experience in youth work and ministry programming
- Spiritual Maturity
- Eligibility to work in Canada
- Some Bible college/seminary training an asset
