Laird Crump Transitioning to New Ministry

A word from Bill Fietje:

Laird 14.JPGOur Canada East Superintendent, Laird Crump, has accepted the invitation to be the next Lead Pastor of The Campus Church in Aurora ON, one of our member AGC churches.  We congratulate Laird on this step of faith and obedience.

Laird has kept me in the loop throughout this process and we have had much discussion on God’s leading throughout these past several weeks. Laird assures us that there was not a "push" factor in this decision. He has really enjoyed his role as Canada East Superintendent. His motivation to accept the invitation from The Campus was more of a “pull” toward the local church pastorate. Simply put, he and Joey want to obey God's clear call upon their lives. The vote was almost unanimous for them to accept this call.

Moving forward, the plan is that Laird will remain in his current role until mid-September 2017, and then assume his new position at The Campus Church. Laird will continue teaching 4-Chair Discipleship and assist in the AGC Church Health and Leadership Commission in a volunteer capacity.

Laird, we love you and look forward to a continuing relationship as you help give vision and leadership to the AGC from this new and strategic opportunity of service in the Kingdom. We will miss you, but look forward to our on-going relationship and ministry as you lead one of our AGC churches.  Thank-you for a job well done. We pray for God's blessings on you and Joey and your family, as well as on the Campus Church.

Please join in prayer as we seek God’s direction for Laird’s replacement.

Blessings,

Willem Fietje
President

Statement from AGC President

Posted by donna on February 1, 2017

Dear friends,

We are all shaken by the horrendous news of the attack on a Mosque in Quebec City this past Sunday evening. This senseless crime causes us to mourn with those who mourn. Our hearts go out to the grieving families. There is no justification for this type of unprovoked violence. The killing of innocent people gathering for worship violates all our Christian values and beliefs as to the sacredness of life. Let us pray for these hurting families. Let us also pray for the young man who has allegedly committed this horrible crime, that he would come to a place of repentance.

Blessings,

Russ Wilson, AGC West Superintendent, led Brad and the congregation in response to the call to serve Christ together.  This was followed by elders, pastors, and AGC leaders who were present laying hands of blessing upon Brad and Darlene, committing them to God’s keeping in His service.
