Fair Havens Director Receives Diamond Jubilee Medal

receiving_Diamond_Jubilee_medal.jpgJohn Friesen, Executive Director of Fair Havens Bible Centre and Chief Executive Officer of Muskoka Bible Centre was the recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, for Outstanding achievement and remarkable service.    

On June 18th, the Lieutenant Governor, the Honourable David C. Onley, was joined by the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, in presenting the medals. John’s medal was presented to him by  Craig & Marc Kielburger, co-founders of Me to We and Free the Children foundations.  

The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal was created to mark the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada.    It is a great honour and a privilege to receive such an award from Her Majesty in the Diamond Jubilee year.     Please join us in congratulating John Friesen!
