Welcome Faith Gospel Fellowship!
On Sunday April 3, the AGC was pleased to welcome Faith Gospel Fellowship of Fort Vermilion, AB into our family of churches!
AGC Superintendent Russ Wilson and One Hope Canada Executive Director Bill McCaskell were on hand to participate in this time of celebration.
With a population of about 800, Fort Vermilion is located 400 kilometres north of the town of Peace River. It is Alberta’s most northerly farming area and supports a logging industry. Established in 1788 as a Hudson's Bay trading post, Fort Vermilion today serves as a communication, transportation, and emergency services hub for a number of surrounding communities, including nearby native reserves.
One Hope Canada (formerly Canadian Sunday School Mission) began a church plant here in 1982 and now it has grown to about 80 people who are excited about reaching men and women, teens and children with the Gospel of Christ. They seek to minister to the community in various ways using special programs for children, youth and adults as well as visitation in homes, hospital, and lodges. Some First Nations ministries have been done on the surrounding reserves.
Pray for this church as they are also seeking pastoral leadership.
